Hello, and welcome to the first of one of my many soon-to-be classical rants about the insane and completely unofficial lore behind the avatars you find in Single City. I will start off with the credits; thanks to the totally irresponsible and immature rants of various conspiracy theorists in server 140, who brought up the idea of the avatars being siblings to begin with. Thank you to the Single City official discord (which if you’re NOT in, what are you doing with your life?) for allowing me to compile these ideas together, and special thanks to Alurra for contributing to the finalized lore that you are about to be bombarded with. And with that out of the way, welcome to the deep-dive and completely unnecessary rabbit hole that is my brain. — Single City is a metropolis consisted of various servers dispersed over a vast area. The ‘chief’ city, which currently remains unnamed, is where the people of power (THE ATA DEVELOPERS) have their own homes. The rest of the cities, called ‘satellite’ cities, are where the rest of the citizens (YOU. THE PLAYERS.) have their homes. There are seven major neighbourhoods in each satellite city, respectively named ring 1 through 6, with the seventh being named ‘Downtown’ and at the heart of each city. Each city is affected by an unknown aliment, which causes some citizens to ‘mutate’ and become something completely out of a book of fiction. From here on, I will refer to this aliment as the City’s ‘effect’. When you first move into your designated Single City server, you will find a generalized batch of 24 avatars. These are your ‘regular citizens’. They have little to no symptoms of the City’s effects, and are the most common type of citizen you will see. Next, at some point, you will be called to chat amongst your fellow citizens. You are bound to run into what are called ‘Body Doubles’. These are citizens who look exactly like you and others, but are not your twin, relative, or have any DNA resemblance to you. It’s almost as if you met your clone. These ‘Body Doubles’ are the citizens who are mildly effected by the City’s effects, and are the second most common citizen you will encounter. When you dive deeper, you are bound to find some citizens who have their heads screwed on a little wonky. They love to party, have fun, and are your stereotypical college students, but without the student part (in some cases. Go get an education, reader.) These citizens party so often and in various places around the City, often diving from one high to the next in search of a good time. We call these citizens the ‘Disco Citizens’. They are mildly affected by the City’s effects, but something is amiss. Due to their tendency to party under blacklight, the effects of the City has mixed with their expose to UV light, morphing their bodies to create a timid, constant glow. The glow created the illusion that the citizen is under a blacklight at all times, even when there is not a blacklight in sight. Next on the list are the ‘Vampiric Citizens’. These are a feminine-appearing branch of the city’s citizens, and are moderately affects by the City’s effects. Their long-term exposure to living within Single City has caused them to have their top-front canine teeth grow down into thin fangs, and their once coloured irises have turned a bright red. In extremely rare cases, these citizens can have a thirst for blood and their eyes can glow on command. At the deepest parts of the city, you will find what is known as the ‘Bat Citizens’. They are severely affected by the City’s effects, and are similar to the Vampiric citizens with the notable difference that these citizens are small, blue-purple tinted, rounded bats. These citizens can speak the common language as if they were humanoid, with little to no struggle. In extremely rare cases, these citizens can create a visible crimson aura around them. — And that concludes the end of the lesson. Or rant. Whatever you wanna call this chuck of lore. Uh. BYE.
